Cinema Park opened in Cinema City Kinepolis in Poznań, Poland
On Saturday 23 May, 2009 the second “Cinema Park” in Poland opened in the city of Poznań. Following the success and warm welcome to the "Cinema Park" project in Cinema City Bemowo in Warsaw, in February 2009 Cinema City Poland announced the planned opening of the second Cinema Park. Cinema Park is a project that combines entertainment and education, using special effects synchronized with sound and picture in the cinema halls.
“Cinema Park is designed for children, teenagers, school groups and whole families,” said Moshe J. Greidinger, CEO of Cinema City , the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. “It combines entertainment and education together which is very attractive for people, who want, together with their kids, to learn about the world we live in using all senses and combine it with the cinemagoing experience. Our first Cinema Park, in Warsaw, opened in mid-2006 and it enjoys a high popularity with high attendance and many sold-out shows”
The Cinema Park program is dealing with different thematic cycles that concern the daily issues that are connected to all people that are living on the planet. A visit of three to four hours includes the shows in six multimedia auditoriums all are dealing with the same subject but each one from different angle and using a different sense: inspiration, interaction, imagination, music, motion and 3D. At the end of the program the kids not only had great fun but also learnt new things about the universe and the society they live in. Until now Cinema City Poland have launched 4 different programs at the Cinema Park Bemowo, all and more will be also presented at the Cinema park in Poznan one by one - The Universe Four Elements, The Animal Kingdom, All About Mankind, and Space Journeys. State-of-the-art technology makes it possible to all ages to learn and have fun at the same time.
Cinema City International is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 65 multiplexes with 603 screens, in 6 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel). The Company has signed binding lease agreements for 45 more multiplexes, which will offer additional 466 screens.
In Poland the Company operates 26 multiplexes with 288 screens. Cinema City is a leader on the Polish market with 34% market share in the number of admissions in 2008. In 2008 in Poland Cinema City sold 12.6 million tickets (+ 5,7% compared to 2007). In 2009 in Poland Cinema City plans to open cinemas in Kraków, Płock and Częstochowa.
